Recycled tyres and soybean oil are incorporated into exterior mirror gaskets. 300 vehicle parts are derived from renewable materials, like nylon, soy, rice and even coconut fibres.
This is true also for the Ford Explorer. Within the seats resides a polyurethane foam that’s 40% soy based. Plus, the vehicle itself is over 85% recyclable.

For the XLT derivate the list is extensive and includes a total of seven airbags, including the Safety Canopy. In addition, safety features include AdvanceTrac, which is an electronic stability system designed to further improve control in even the most challenging conditions.
